I came across a shortcut to show/hide hidden files on my Macbook Pro running OSX 10.15 ( Catalina ).
Press Command (cmd) + Shift + . (dot) to show or hide hidden files. It makes it really easy to get a hold of a file that is hidden. Do something with it and then hide the hidden files again.
The tip works on macOS Sierra or higher.
