You think you lost your e-mails when moving your web site and pointing your domain to another host?
Well think again here is a method I was told how to retrieve them.
I moved the web site and pointed the domain easywebdesigntutorials.com using DNS from SiteGround to Arch Hosting.
For 6 days I forgot to recreate my e-mail address paaljoachimATTeasywebdesigntutorials.com.
(I use the e-mail address on occasion. As it looks better then using my hotmail address..:)
That meant that I had in a sense lost 6 days worth of e-mails as the account was no any longer at SiteGround and I had not recreated the e-mail address at Arch Hosting.
I asked support at SiteGround and they could not help me since the the domain was not pointed to them any longer.
I asked support at Arch Hosting and they told me about the “catch-all” e-mail address of any mail sent to a domain that is then at Arch Hosting. As easywebdesigntutorials.com is now pointing to Arch Hosting that meant that any e-mail sent to the domain would also be caught up by the catch all filter.
I logged into Arch Hosting. Went to cPanel -> Email Accounts -> Default Email Account. Then clicked Access Webmail to view the e-mails.
And there I found the few e-mails that I would have lost. The catch all filter had saved the day.
Thanks to Liam at Arch Hosting for giving me the information about a feature in cPanel so that I was able to retrieve the e-mails for paaljoachimATTeasywebdesigntutorials.com.
